I hoped that “EmailWritr supports over 100 languages” meant more than using the Google Translator for my German emails, which are still in English. “After spending a lot of time and money following failed diets, expensive drugs, and painful surgeries, I realized that the medical system had utterly abandoned me,” the translation reads. And that’s not something you want happening with emails you’re sending to customers.

I initially dismissed this on AppSumo. I thought I could find more AI-driven software for writing emails. Then I realized it worked with Vbout, so I wanted to give it a try. The user interface could be a lot better, but in terms of features, it offers a lot. The Vbout part of it is secondary to me. I’m so glad I tried it out. 🙂

The email app is effective in doing what it’s intended to do. It allows people to quickly craft and send emails to specific individuals. However, when it comes to exporting those same emails, whether as a PDF or Word document, is when the issues arise. Unfortunately, the current version of the app doesn’t produce clean and easily readable copies of emails. Thus, the 3 tacos.

I wasn’t sure about EmailWritr at first, but this week, it became my favorite tool for writing email sequences. I can already see a big change in the platform, and for me, that’s a sign that it’s improving and that I’m working with a tool that is becoming even stronger. I love the custom email feature, not only because it helps me think through what I need to put in my emails, but also because it does a lot of the heavy creative work for me. I really enjoy this! I was considering writers who specialize in emails, but settled on the email_specific EmailWritr. I like that I can either dive right into their done-for-you sequence (which is really well highlighted with placeholders) or go through their questions and have the custom sequence filled out with my answers. It is a fairly long sequence of questions, so it feels more comprehensive. I’m still exploring it, but so far, so good!

If I want to save time, I can choose between the “done-for-you” emails or those I’ve customized myself. Another option is to use my very own content in the series. That’s a big pain. It would be much better to be able to just move the emails around within the sequence, to be able to delete them if I wanted, and to add new ones as they occurred to me. Here’s hoping they improve on this.4. The ability to integrate with other platforms via an application programming interface (API) is a feature that some people will find very appealing. However, it is not one that I, personally, will be able to make use of because the platform I use, Groove, does not currently offer such an interface. For those who do have an email platform that is compatible with the API of the current set of email applications supported by Mailbird, the benefits will be even clearer.5. What I would like to be added: Besides what I already mentioned, I hope for the following improvements to be made: 1. A more polished and sophisticated way to save and organize my personal sequences would be much appreciated. 2. I believe the software could benefit from a dropdown menu at the top of the main dashboard, making it easy to choose from a list and keep our sequence project folders (separated by brands if you wish) in a top location instead of not being able to access them directly from the landing page. I feel like this would help a lot with not letting our projects mix together and keeping things clear. 3. Being given the ability to go into these sequence project folders and change tip names or edit the way that they’re written, I could see this being a helpful tool for anyone who wants to bring creative ideas to the table when it comes to the follow-up steps within their sequences.In a couple of years, if we aren’t getting value from a product we’ve purchased, we should be able to resell it. I go to Appsumo or some other company and buy this wonderfully slick piece of software and then find out that it wants all my time in return. Well, I don’t even have time to work with half the software I’ve paid for conditionally or not. So day after day, week after week, I pay for the software that’s just going to languish in a kind of half-condition, and try never to feel too bad about it. But dangerous amounts of infomercial/late-night TV-like guilt keep rising in my chest. What kind of person am I that I just threw good money after bad? Nothing. It’s not even being used. If I could really sell this sucker, I’d feel much better about myself.

It threw some unintelligible jargon at me about cookies. I should’ve refreshed the page, but instead, I pushed the back button. Poof!—all the templates I’d made were gone, replaced entirely by the bread-and-butter offerings.Everything we had worked on had disappeared. We tried saving to see if that would keep what we had done, and then it worked like a charm—except it didn’t, because when we reloaded the page, all our work was still gone. I can’t even, in good conscience, charge someone for the time it took me to write emails that just went up in smoke.I enjoyed using the wizard-style campaign builder. However, they should take some inspiration from the other tools that either autosave or cache the text. That way, even if you close the page, you can still return to the URL and pick up right where you left off. (Do what Paperform does!)

It creates captivating, direct-to-the-point emails. What I really appreciate is that it doesn’t use AI as a default. I’m not a fan of AI because it tends to produce the same patterns over and over. This makes email writing a little bit of a drag.
